The 60 Watt MagSafe Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector that ensures your power cable will disconnect if it experiences undue strain and helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC connector helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

I bought this to replace the one original to the apple I have had for four years. The cables are very stiff, so you cannot wrap them. They work, but I feel like they need to be treated with care.

I'm very impressed with this charger, considering it's a quarter of the price of the original. I had my reservation being that it is not a genuine Apple product. Can't say I have any complaints. My original Apple battery extension even works with it. As far as it not charging the computer and only being a power source I have not came across that problem. I watched my battery preferences closely since I read in the reviews it's a common problem. My computer is holding a charge and the status reads increasing percentages. I believe i was suppose to ship in 3-5 business days, I received it in 3.

I bought this charger because I lost the original and 80 bucks seemed like way too much to pay for a replacement at the Apple store. This charger gets the computer working but does not charge my macbook's battery. A search on macbook help revealed, "If the battery status menu says "Not Charging," your Mac is connected to a power source that gives it enough power to run, but not enough power to charge the battery. For example, your Mac may be connected to an airline power adapter. You can still use your Mac without draining its battery, but the battery will not be charged, even if you turn off your Mac or put it to sleep." I have a Macbook4,1 circa 2008. With this charger's specs and appearance, it should have been compatible. What's the point of having a laptop if it has to be plugged in 100% of the time? I'm returning this and ordering another brand.
