I use my laptop quite a bit outside of my home and I have noticed that people have an almost natural tendency to glance over at other's computer screens. If this bothers you, then I think that this is a good investment.Pros: 1) allows the lid to close with no interference. 2) it fits perfectly on my mid-2009 macbook pro 13"; it has a small cut-out for the camera. The filter literally covers all of the glass part of the screen, completely! 3) it's easy to remove. I actually just tested this since I don't need this filter until classes resume again. The adhesive strips will need to be replaced, but everything came off cleanly, with no residue. You just have to pull the filter off slowly and with very little force. 4) it has good visibility for the laptop user. Though, keep in mind that those who are behind you (or within a 30 deg angle or so of you) will probably be able to see your screen... The GPFMP13 fits my Macbook Pro 13-inch (mid-2010) model perfectly. It has a cut-out for the iSight camera. It uses two-sided sticky film that holds the filter in place (You can probably skip the sticky film if you want the filter to just lie on top of the screen). The filter runs from edge to edge. It also comes with a sleeve to store the filter when you are not using it.The 3M gold filter is one of the best privacy filters available. It reduces the screens viewing angle, while maintaining high picture quality. Some other filters have a tendency to makes the screen a bit fuzzy. It might be because it is new, but it seems to attracting more dust then previous 3M filters I have used. Some other reviewers mentioned diagonal lines, and it is noticeable if you look for it. Its not that Im not working but sometime we want to do something personal such as banking or whatever and you have to check all the time over your shoulder, with this you forget about that, the angle of view is perfect for you but its very difficult for someone sitting or standing next to you to spy on what you're doing. |
